The Milford Board of Aldermen unanimously approved the appointment of Christopher Hite to complete the unexpired term of Matthew Arcchiolo in the First District and administered the oath of office.
The Milford Board of Aldermen voted unanimously Aug. 4 to appoint Christopher Hite, 39 Acorn Lane, to complete the unexpired First District term of Matthew Arcchiolo. The appointment was moved and seconded under agenda item 8a; after the unanimous vote the newly appointed alderman was sworn in at the meeting. The appointment matter was presented by Alderman Pacelli and approved without recorded opposition. Christopher Hite took the oath of office before the board and said, “I’m ready to take my seat in the board of alderman. I’m very excited. I’ve reviewed the agenda for tonight’s meeting, and I’m fully prepared to conduct business.” Arcchiolo had addressed the board earlier in the public-comment portion to say he had moved out of the First District and resigned his seat; he also publicly endorsed Hite as a potential replacement prior to the formal appointment. No additional conditions or amendments to the appointment were recorded in the motion. The mayor and city clerk participated in the swearing-in at the meeting. The Board returns to regular business with the First District represented by Hite.
