Under the timetable announced, Farooqi’s resignation will take effect on Aug. 23; the appointed individual will serve until January 2026, when the newly elected council member takes office. The application window opens Friday, Aug. 8, and closes Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 5 p.m. Applicants must submit a resume and a statement of interest to the municipal clerk’s office at City Hall via municipalclerk@atlantaga.gov or through the council website.
