Summary
Council and Board of Works approved a not-to-exceed $35,000 contract with Brandstead or Carroll for design services to renovate the Lawrenceburg Police Department into a new command center and other interior changes, funded from the city’s design and engineering budget line.
The Board of Works voted to approve a design-services proposal for renovations to the Lawrenceburg Police Department, accepting staff's recommendation for Brandstead or Carroll at a not-to-exceed amount of $35,000. Staff said the work will create a new command center, interview room, additional offices and other interior changes.
Staff presented that multiple firms submitted proposals and that Brandstead or Carroll’s proposal was recommended for award. If approved, design work will be charged to the city’s design and engineering line. Council and staff recorded no questions during the presentation and approved the not-to-exceed amount by motion.
The board did not set design milestones or delivery dates at the meeting. Staff indicated that, if approved, the department will follow the city’s usual design review process and bring contract documents back for construction bidding at the appropriate time.
