The Public Welfare Subcommittee voted to send petition 11591 to the full City Council for approval, seeking a zoning map amendment for the parcel described as W 32-5-5 on Dinan Drive (site of a Subway). The planning board recommended adoption following a joint public hearing on July 7.
The planning board’s report, filed by Jason Stevens, recommends adopting an ordinance that would change the parcel’s designation from Community Commercial to Industrial 1 with the Summit Solo overlay. Attorney Tree gave the subcommittee an overview of the planned development and provided a presentation after technical difficulties disrupted the July 7 hearing.
Committee leadership noted there was no public opposition at the joint public hearing. "I think it's important to know at the… public hearing, nobody spoke out against this action," the committee chair said. A committee member added, "I think it was a thorough, thorough, presentation. So I have no questions."
Councilor Heath moved to forward the petition to the full council for approval; a second was recorded and the motion carried by voice vote. The subcommittee’s action forwards the ordinance for consideration by the full City Council; it does not enact the zoning change.
The planning board’s written report and Attorney Tree’s presentation are included in the subcommittee packet. The ordinance will appear on the full council agenda for final action.
