Marshall County commissioners on Aug. 4 approved a second-quarter claim from the Marshall County Council on Aging totaling $78,503 and accepted the agency’s quarterly report.
Janice Holliday, executive director of the Marshall County Council on Aging, presented the second-quarter figures: $139,769 in expenses and $12,763 in revenue, leaving net expenses of $127,006. The claim submitted to the county totaled $78,503 — comprised of a federal portion ($63,503) and a state portion ($15,000) with the county local match recorded at $48,503.
Holliday reported 7,282 trips for the quarter, including 60 in-county denials and 113 out-of-county trips, and that drivers logged roughly 55,000 miles. She noted the agency was operating with fewer vehicles because four newer vans were under recall, and two had been returned to service. Holliday invited commissioners and the public to the Senior Expo on Oct. 16 at the high school (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.).
Commissioners voted to approve the claim and to accept the second-quarter report. No additional funding changes were made at the meeting.
