On Aug. 21, 2025 the Richland County Board of Commissioners authorized the issuance of a public depository application, establishing a submission window for interested financial institutions and scheduling an award decision for Oct. 23, 2025.
County staff said the application package runs about 15 pages and includes technical questionnaires and instructions for banks interested in handling county public funds. The county set the application window to open Sept. 23 and close Oct. 13 at 10 a.m.; commissioners set Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. for the board to award the depository contract.
Staff told commissioners the application packet and a covering letter will indicate how institutions should report capacity to handle public funds and asked participating institutions to submit required financial information. Commissioners voted to authorize issuance of the application and to proceed with the planned schedule.
The board thanked staff and Park National Bank representatives who assisted with analysis and drafting. No bank selection or award was made at the meeting; the board will evaluate applications after the submission window closes and will act on Oct. 23, 2025.
