Members of the Central Virginia Transportation Authority acknowledged the recent death of John Hodges, a former member who participated virtually in the authority’s June meeting.
The chair informed members that Hodges had passed since the last meeting and said a celebration of life had been held. Several members expressed condolences and noted Hodges’ regional contributions in his role as a planning director and as a member of the authority. A member noted they attended the celebration of life and encouraged colleagues to keep Hodges’ family in their thoughts.
At the meeting, the town of Ashland announced a change in representation on the authority. The new Ashland representative said she did not intend to replace Hodges but thanked members for condolences and noted the town appreciated the lifetime achievement recognition extended to Hodges’ family.
Remarks were presented as part of the authority’s open comments and memorial acknowledgement; no action or vote was recorded.
