CVTA technical advisory committee asks localities to update FY26 local allocation plans

The Central Virginia Transportation Authority (CVTA) Technical Advisory Committee on Wednesday asked member localities to update their FY26 local allocation plans so the committee and finance group can reconcile planned projects with quarterly reports and the annual certification process.
CVTA staff member Chet told the committee the agency posted an Excel spreadsheet showing last year’s (FY25) allocation plan and asked members to update or replace those line items with projects expected to be funded July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. “This is essentially our planning document,” Chet said, adding that quarterly reporting and the annual certification verify that local funds were used for their express purposes.
The request is procedural but time-sensitive: the updates feed the finance committee’s side-by-side comparisons of expected versus reported expenditures and the CVTA’s certification next summer. Committee members discussed timing and the chair requested a short submission window so the topic can be prepped for next month’s Technical Advisory Committee meeting; committee staff asked members to provide updates as soon as possible.
Chet said he can set a deadline if helpful and asked members with questions to contact him. He noted a spreadsheet of FY25 projects is available on the member portal for reference. The committee indicated it would try to deliver updates within roughly two weeks so the item can be placed on the October agenda.
The committee also noted other administrative work under way, including an expected task order to verify cost estimates for regional project applications.
