CBTA staff told the finance committee on July 10, 2025, that the Transportation Advisory Committee received five bonding proposal submittals by an Aug. 1 deadline, totaling roughly $505,000,000. The submissions represent an initial pool of proposed projects that localities are considering for inclusion in a potential CBTA bond package.
Staff emphasized this is an early step to identify regional needs and does not represent a final package or commitment. The next steps described were to review the TAC's submissions with the finance director's working group, bond counsel and the authority's financial advisers to assess project readiness, timelines, total costs and other attributes that affect marketability and credit considerations. Staff said the list will be refined and returned to the finance committee for further financial assessment before any recommendation to the full authority.
Staff and committee members noted that the submittals are designed to start the bond planning process and could vary widely in total size; the submissions give the authority its first view of regional appetite and project readiness for a potential bond issuance.
