The Reynoldsburg Planning and Zoning Board on July 17 approved a certificate of appropriateness for exterior signage at 7360 East Main Street for Slab Restaurant LLC. The board voted unanimously to accept staff's recommendation and approve two wooden circular sign refaces and one new aluminum wall sign as presented. Teron Nelson, co-owner and applicant representative, addressed the board at the podium and said, "We're just really just looking to get the certificate of approval, to be honest." The signs described in the application are two wooden circular panels with a black background and white logo and a new aluminum wall sign measuring 17 inches by 48 inches, also with a black background and white logo. Staff recommended approval based on Old Reynoldsburg sign guidelines (section 11‑0‑50‑3‑c‑2) and the review criteria in section 11‑0‑9‑19, which the staff report said were met. The board's approval was made by motion from the chair and seconded; roll call recorded affirmative votes from all members present. The approval allows the applicant to proceed with installing the signs as shown in the submitted site plan and images; any further changes to sign size, placement or materials would require an additional review. Less substantive items on the agenda preceded and followed this approval, including routine minutes and agenda approvals and public-sworn testimony procedures.
