The Reynoldsburg Planning and Zoning Board on June 5 approved a certificate of appropriateness allowing First Service Federal Credit Union to replace siding and paint trim at its branch at 7610 East Main Street.
Staff presented application 20250228 and recommended approval under the Old Reynoldsburg design guidelines and zoning review criteria. The 0.5-acre parcel currently contains a financial services branch with a drive-through and is zoned ORDC (Old Reynoldsburg Commercial District).
Doug Kinkade, representing the applicant, told the board the building has been on the site for decades and was purchased by First Service Federal Credit Union in February. Kinkade said the existing gable siding appears original and the applicant is proposing new white vinyl siding. “It is a class 1A siding and has high wind capability,” Kinkade said, adding the product has a beaded look and comes in 12-foot lengths.
The board received no public comment on the item. After brief discussion, the chair moved to approve the application as submitted; a fellow board member seconded the motion. The vote was recorded as unanimous.
Work as approved covers the east and west elevations and painting of existing wood trim around the entire building; staff said the proposal met the applicable review criteria in section 11-3-11(I) (design guidelines for Old Reynoldsburg) and section 11-9-19 (review criteria). No timeline for the work was provided during the meeting.
The board moved on to other agenda items following the vote.
