Superintendent Brown reported recent staff resignations and new hires and announced plans for the district convocation.
Brown said he received resignations from Emily Smith, Tanya Paves, Tori Jansen and Linda Dodson and said longtime employee Melinda (last name not specified) is retiring; he said "it's probably gonna take 3 people to replace Melinda based on everything that lady does." Brown praised Melinda and other retirees for long service.
Brown read a list of new hires: Stacy Smith, Colby Graves, Bridal Lamontz, BJ Anderson, Jessica DeWitt, Leanne Eagle, Kathy Harvey, Robin Stevens, Denisa Stecklein, Zoe Williams and Grace Gardner.
He also announced the district convocation will be Aug. 6 at 8:30 a.m. in the Perryton High School auditorium and that Jill Seiler of the Texas Association of School Administrators will speak; Brown described Seiler as the author of Thrive and an experienced presenter and invited trustees and neighboring districts to attend.
Brown noted Donna Hale officially signed her contract last Thursday and that the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction position remains open after accepting a resignation.
