The Perryton ISD Board of Trustees voted 7-0 to grant Mr. and Mrs. Anderson's request to reduce Landry's placement in a disciplinary alternative education program (DAEP) to time served for the 2024-25 school year.

A board member moved that the board "find the administration's investigation and handling of the disciplinary incident was conducted properly, but that Landry's conduct was not sufficiently severe to warrant continuation of his DAEP into the 2526 school year and further move to grant mister and missus Anderson's request to reduce Landry's DAEP placement to time served during the 24, 25 school year." A second was recorded and the motion carried 7-0.

The motion as recorded in open session credited the district's investigation while changing the placement outcome for the student. The board president announced the outcome and the tally: "Motion carries 7 0." The record before the board shows the decision was made in open session after a prior closed session; the president noted that no action was taken during the closed session and that any action would be taken after reconvening.
