The Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning Board of Trustees authorized the University of Southern Mississippi to transfer $2,047,425.77 in excess funds from the Reed Green Coliseum roofing project to other repair or renovation work on the Hattiesburg campus, after staff cited state-authorizing language.

Doctor Pierce told trustees that USM requested authorization to move $2,047,425.77 from the roofing project for use on other campus systems or buildings. The request, Pierce said, was submitted under the requirements of section 8 of Senate Bill 2049 of the 2025 First Extraordinary Session; legal staff reviewed the request and found it compliant with applicable law. Board staff recommended approval and the board approved items 1 through 3 on a grouped motion.
