The board approved routine correspondence items: renewal of amusement-device licenses for Michigan Bar and Grill, Columbia Gyros and Aurelio's Pizza; a request from New Zion Temple Church to block Tappard Street for a community event on Aug. 24; and Saint John Bosco School’s request to place safety cones during school drop-off and pick-up hours starting Aug. 15.
A staff member read the licenses and event requests into the record. “Correspondence received from Saint John Bosco School requesting permission to continue their procedure for the 2526 school year to place safety cones on a hundred and 70 first place Monday through Friday when school is in session between the hours of 7AM to 08:15AM and 02:30PM to 03:15PM starting August 15,” the staff member said.
The board recommended approval of the listed licenses and permits; actions were recorded by concurrence. A separate right-of-way permit request from NIPSCO to replace poles at Fayette and Seoul and a utility casing issue on Summer Street were approved with staff noting short durations for work.
During public comment, a resident, Theodore Wagner of 219 Wildwood Road, asked to hold a garage sale that weekend; staff said they would verify whether he had reached the city’s allowed number of garage sales and offered conditional approval pending that verification. The board recommended approval “pending the verification.”
