At its July 30, 2025, organizational meeting the Michigan City Redevelopment Authority elected Mr. Walls to serve as president and approved Phil Latchford as secretary-treasurer. The authority also approved minutes from its Feb. 15, 2024, meeting.

The reorganization took place at the start of the meeting after a roll call showed a quorum. Nominations were opened and closed by voice; Mr. Walls was nominated and elected by voice vote. Phil Latchford was nominated for the secretary-treasurer role and approved by voice vote.

Board members completed the routine reorganization business that allows the authority to sign documents and conduct official actions under its bylaws. The authority did not record a roll-call tally in the public record for these voice votes; the meeting minutes reflect approval by voice vote.

The meeting then moved to other agenda items and public comment before adjourning.
