Superintendent Dr. Mannarino on July 31 outlined the district’s back-to-school calendar, device distribution plans and related logistics for the 2025–26 school year.
Opening day for teachers is Aug. 12; the first student day is Wednesday, Aug. 20. Ninth-grade orientation sessions are scheduled for Aug. 14 and 19 and other grade-level orientations occur in the weeks before school starts. Middle- and high-school schedules will be released Aug. 8, and elementary schedules will be available Aug. 11, the superintendent said.
The district will distribute new devices for students this year. High school students may pick up laptops at district pickup windows beginning the Monday before school; parents may pick up devices on behalf of students. Elementary and middle school students will receive new iPads (described as an A16 model with 128 GB and protective covers) distributed during the first week of school in homerooms.
The district encourages families to purchase optional device insurance; the superintendent said the cost is $35 per device and is free for families participating in the district’s free and reduced-price lunch program. Families must enroll devices to opt into the insurance plan; the district will apply the free benefit to eligible families automatically once devices are enrolled.
Other logistics: the district will continue to use School Dismissal Manager for absences and dismissal changes; parking passes are available online for $50; and the Westview grand reopening is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 6, with a ribbon cutting and tours. Dr. Mannarino emphasized that the student-contact and health information forms in PowerSchool should be completed as soon as possible to support emergency contact and health needs.
