Several Routt County 4‑H members addressed the Board of County Commissioners on July 22 to promote the Routt County Fair and Junior Livestock Sale and to outline ways the public can support youth exhibitors. Students provided the schedule of livestock shows — swine on Aug. 13, steer and heifer on Aug. 14, goats and sheep on Aug. 15 — and said the Bobby Robinson Memorial free community barbecue would be held Aug. 16 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. 4‑H members explained auction buyer add‑ons and floor‑raising programs as ways to support exhibitors who do not sell for a high bid; they highlighted past local support, such as a minimum floor instituted by Routt West Sanitation for market hogs and donations from local organizations. Members described their project work, how they use sale proceeds to fund future project expenses and college savings, and urged community attendance at shows and the auction. Commissioners thanked the youth for promoting the fair and invited them to take a group photo for outreach.
