Trustees approved a facilities bid to purchase a replacement articulated Bobcat and heard a rundown of summer maintenance projects across the district.
Facilities director Warren reported crews were refinishing gym floors and completing large projects at multiple schools, including extensive work at the middle school, painting and upgrades to the Copeville High weight room, sidewalk repairs at Star Valley High and LED lighting replacement. He said the district had completed major bleacher work at Star Valley Middle School and had added 100 tons of sand to middle school athletic fields.
Warren introduced a bid to replace a 2002 Toro machine used for grounds maintenance. He said the recommended purchase is a Bobcat articulated loader located in Kemmer that comes with a bucket and a blower; the procurement team compared it with Ventrac, John Deere and Toro alternatives and judged the Bobcat the best fit. "Everybody I talked to gave it the thumbs up," Warren said.
Board members asked whether other attachments would be purchased; Warren said the machine is quick‑attach compatible and the bid lists the included attachments. The board later approved the bid. Motion by Mr. Call, second by Mrs. Day. "All in favor? Aye." Motion carries.
The facilities update included a list of projects the director expects to return for bids in coming months, including a throwing area project at Star Valley High and additional parking lot maintenance. Warren said the district is also deep‑cleaning every building while contractors complete capital work.
The board recorded the bid approval and asked staff to bring remaining planned projects back for formal bid approvals as work advances.
