Allen County commissioners on June 6 approved a mediated settlement agreement resolving a claim stemming from an equipment failure at the courthouse, County Attorney Maeser said.
Maeser told the commission the county held mediation in a case in which a person was injured; the mediation resulted in a settlement recommended by the county's insurance defense counsel. "The mediation resulted in a mediated settlement agreement that needs your approval. The amount of the settlement is ... $35,000," Maeser said, and identified the case as cause number O2D022403CT173.
Commissioners moved and seconded approval of the mediated settlement; the motion carried by voice vote. No further details about the incident or claimant were discussed in the public session.
