Allen County commissioners on June 6 approved an agreement with CMS Roofing Inc. to repair gussets, repair several internal trusses and replace the roof at the South Highway Garage salt barn for a cost not to exceed $27,320, county staff said.
A county staff member told commissioners that Facilities Director Vance Hernandez assessed roof leaks and found some trusses and gussets needed repair. "He found out ... there were some trusses that needed repaired as well," the staff member said, describing the contract scope as repair of trusses (not replacement) and reroofing.
Commissioners moved and seconded approval of the agreement; the motion carried. The staff member said the repairs are intended to protect stored salt from water damage and maintain storage through the season.
The contract was presented as a single agreement with a not-to-exceed price of $27,320. No amendments or alternate funding sources were described in the session discussion.
