Martin County, Stuart, Indiantown update road, drainage and bridge projects with staggered timelines

For resurfacing, Baker said Leilani Heights milling and resurfacing work began and is about 25% complete with anticipated work continuing into August and September; Hope Hills was in bid packaging with construction expected in the fall. Sidewalk and multimodal items included Southeast Avalon Drive sidewalk (utility coordination and last FPL pole relocations pending) and the SunTrail multiuse path design at about 60% to connect Jonathan Dickinson Park to nearby state park lands. For bridges, Dixie East Fork Creek bridge is complete and the Hobe Sound bascule‑bridge scour prevention design is at 100%; County Line Road bridge work awaits final utility coordination and Army Corps permits from FPL and AT&T.
City of Stuart utilities director Peter Koonan reported municipal resurfacing is underway on several city streets with milling and resurfacing targeted for completion by September; a major Conquistador lift‑station rehabilitation contract is being awarded with work expected to begin in September and run through March 2026. Koonan also said headworks rehabilitation at the city water‑reclamation facility is under construction with completion anticipated in January 2026, and Veterans Memorial Park upgrades are on schedule for March 2026 completion.
Village of Indiantown director Pat Nolan said Uptown roadway and drainage design funded by FDOT is complete but lacks construction funding; the village is pursuing funding for a 100‑year‑old Railroad Avenue main replacement and noted a 12‑inch looping project funded by ARPA and county funds is nearly complete.
