"In order to support the redevelopment of this site, it does require the variances that were described," Cruz said, summarizing requests to reduce two right‑of‑way landscape buffers (to a variable width from about 5 feet up to 12 feet) and to allow 9‑foot‑wide parking spaces in lieu of the city's 10‑foot standard.
