The La Verne Planning Commission on July 29 approved a renewed site plan for Chaney Place, a 50‑townhome project on about 4.3 acres after its previous approval lapsed when construction did not start. Staff said the project previously received commission approval more than two years ago but expired under the city’s 24‑month time limit; the current proposal is unchanged from that earlier plan. The site sits adjacent to La Verne High School and includes two access drives, a central playground, a mail kiosk near the north entrance, a dumpster enclosure, and a sidewalk along Chaney Boulevard, staff said. Staff reported no outstanding planning or engineering comments; the proposal shows the required buffers and street improvements. A motion to approve the site plan was made and the commission approved the plan by voice vote. There were no public comments recorded on the item during the meeting.
