Council approves one-year Granicus/1Meeting contract for agenda and meeting management

The Sunnyside City Council on July 28 approved a one‑year agreement with Granicus for the 1Meeting agenda and meeting‑management platform at an annual cost of $9,240. City Clerk Jacqueline Renteria said the vendor 1Meeting was acquired by Granicus and the company requested an updated contract. Staff asked to sign a one‑year contract rather than a longer term so the city can reassess needs. Renteria described the platform’s features: workflow for agenda preparation, live‑voting capability, automated minutes generation and integration with streaming and video archives. Councilors said the current system is familiar to staff, that switching now would impose extra work while staffing is limited, and that a one‑year contract is sensible to allow time to evaluate alternatives. The resolution authorizing the interim city manager to enter a one‑year agreement passed on a roll-call vote.
