Floyd County commissioners on July 15 unanimously approved a solicitation permit request from Moxie Pest Control, allowing specified company representatives to solicit door-to-door in the county.
Dallin Johnson, an applicant representing Moxie Pest Control, told commissioners the company uses door-to-door sales to group houses on routes, which he said reduces costs for both the company and homeowners. "Our model, we simply just go door to door, for marketing purposes. Logistically easier us to group houses together on the same route on the same day," Johnson said.
Johnson named the other individuals listed on the application as Nicholas Hagman and Brian Zollinger and said one previously listed applicant, Bailey Bruce, had withdrawn. County staff member Susanna Worrall was identified as the official who will issue permits and maintain the county’s "no knock" list.
A commissioner moved to approve the permit for the three named individuals; another commissioner seconded, and the motion carried on a voice vote. Commissioners noted the county’s no-solicitation procedures and directed the applicant to coordinate permit details with Susanna Worrall.
The approval allows the named solicitors to operate under the county’s rules; staff said residents may be added to the county’s no-knock list by contacting Susanna Worrall.
Less critical details: the commissioners opened the meeting by announcing public-comment procedures and noted online streaming of the meeting.
Ending: County staff will complete permit paperwork with the approved applicants and update the public no-solicit list as needed.
