MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. — The Monongalia County Commission accepted the sheriff’s fiscal 2025 settlement and approved additional compensation for the sheriff pursuant to West Virginia Code 11A‑1‑17 at its July 30 meeting.
Kelly Palmer presented the sheriff’s report and told the commission the 2025 settlement report is in compliance with state code. Commissioners moved to accept the settlement “as presented.”
The commission also considered and approved the sheriff’s additional compensation after hearing that the sheriff had met the 85% threshold required by the statute. Commissioners recorded the additional compensation amount as $15,000.
