Trust certifies Wild Rooster LLC for SIP film rebate and approves $181,298 allocation

The Trust on July 29 certified Wild Rooster LLC as eligible under Oklahoma City’s SIP film incentive program and approved an allocation not to exceed $181,298. Jill Simpson presented the item after staff intake from the State Film Office and said the production, a road-trip feature film, scoped to film in October–November 2025 and aimed to finish principal photography by Thanksgiving.

Staff reported Wild Rooster estimates local expenditures of about $3,890,000 and projected that 70% of the crew would be Oklahoma City-based. The production team set up a locally registered company (Wild Rooster LLC) and planned practical-location filming (no sound stages). Simpson said the project is prequalified for the state rebate and met city criteria of minimum local spend and staff hiring thresholds. Film staff recommended a 5% city rebate of local qualifying expenditures, yielding the proposed $181,002.98 figure (rounded in the agenda to $181,298 allocation).

Simpson’s presentation included economic-impact modeling results staff ran for the production: roughly $8.8 million in total economic impact when indirect effects are included, 313 jobs supported (direct and indirect), and $4.3 million in labor income. Staff estimated 23 filming days in Oklahoma City (82% of filming days), 70% Oklahoma City metro resident hires among local crew, and that 90% of vendors would be local. Simpson noted the production footprint is small — about 35-plus local hires and an estimated 1,400 man-days of local work. She said it was too early to know whether post-production work would occur locally.

The Trust took a motion and second to approve the eligibility certification and the allocation; the item passed. Simpson said the timing is helpful for local crew availability and that the rebate program would retain capacity for future applicants in the current fiscal window.
