Cabot schools report 64 bullying incident forms this year; 30 found credible, district provides multi‑year comparison

Cabot School District officials told the board on Tuesday that 64 bullying report forms were completed during the 2024–25 school year and that administrators found 30 of those reports credible under the district’s investigation process.

The district said the 64 figure comes from forms submitted using the district’s incident/bullying report process; eSchool, the district discipline management system, also shows 64 bullying incidences recorded for the year. Administrative responses to credible reports range from conferences with students to recommendations for expulsion, depending on severity.

District staff presented a three‑year comparison: in 2023–24 there were 75 submitted forms with 32 found credible and 81 recorded incidences; in 2022–23 there were 52 forms with 21 found credible and 95 recorded incidences. The board received the report as the annual submission required under Act 1029.

An administrator explained the difference between forms submitted and eSchool incidences: not every incident is reported on the formal form — some matters are addressed by staff without a completed form if an administrator takes immediate action. The board did not propose new district‑wide disciplinary policy changes at the meeting but accepted the required report and invited questions.

The district said the bullying incident report form is available on the district website and includes timelines for required follow‑up contact and investigation steps under state guidance.
