The Board of County Commissioners approved two actions for Grand County Public Health on Tuesday. First, commissioners authorized Amendment No. 1 to the county's participation agreement with the University of Colorado Anschutz to continue the Baby & Me Tobacco Free program through June 30 of the following year and to provide $5,000 to the public health department for program delivery.
Public Health Director Abby Baker told commissioners the amendment extends an initial contract that began in January and will fund program operations for the year.
Second, the board authorized a reimbursement-rate agreement with Peak Health Alliance to allow the county public health department to bill that payer for reproductive health and immunization services. Baker said credentialing is underway for several programs and Peak Health Alliance is the first payer with whom the county has reached a workable reimbursement agreement. Until now the county has used private donation funds to cover services for insured patients.
The board authorized Director Baker to sign the Peak Health reimbursement agreement and any applicable documents pertaining to the arrangement. Commissioners asked for a final contract with clear CPT-code detail to be brought to the board when available.
