Sunbury City Council awarded the Packer Street paving contract to Mid State Paving LLC of Middleburg after the city announced a notice of award and the bid amount recorded in the meeting materials.

Materials presented at the meeting listed Mid State Paving LLC as the apparent low bidder with a contract amount read into the record as $1,923,377.40. Council members moved to accept the notice of award and voted in favor of the contract award.

Council did not discuss alternative bidders in detail during the public portion of the meeting; staff indicated the award was consistent with the city’s procurement process and that subsequent contract documents and performance bonds would follow standard municipal practice.

City staff will finalize contract documents and schedule a pre-construction meeting with the contractor prior to starting work on Packer Street.
