Clerk staff said the new flat fee will replace the prior per‑page fee schedule (for example, previous per‑page surcharges) so that a one‑page deed or a 50‑page document will now carry the same base recording fee of $40 plus the $3 state fee. The clerk’s office said vendor software updates require closing the recording office at 2:30 p.m. on June 30 so vendors can implement the new fees; the office has posted notices and alerted vendors.
Staff noted a few minor corrections to the county fee schedule unrelated to recording fees: an extension office plot count on page 15 will be updated (numbers of large, small and in‑ground plots), and several other obsolete charges (antifreeze and motor oil) were removed. The board adopted the updated Gilpin County comprehensive fee schedule by resolution (25‑081).
