County plaza clinic nears handover; utility and finish work remain

Resource management staff told the Christian County Commission that construction of the county plaza clinic is near completion and ready to be handed over to the clinic operator, Care ATC, pending final punch-list items and utility work.
“The Ozark fire department out to inspect the fire protection system and it passed just fine,” the project update said. Staff reported a 126-page punch list of paint and touch-up items, custodial cleaning scheduled with DeWitt’s crew, and finishing work by tradesmen to complete punch-list items. Electrical crews pulled wire but must still make final junction connections and sync the feeder with the main transformer; staff said crews encountered rock that will require limited breaking to set a pad to Liberty’s specifications.
Site work included grading of the parking-lot base and plans to place final lifts of asphalt; one entrance area will be left for a concrete extension after Breitzky lowers a utility line. Staff said ESS was completing base work and that they expect final surfacing within days. “We are ready to hand over the clinic space to Care ATC on Monday,” a resource-management presenter said; commissioners asked whether that schedule still held and were told it did.
No formal action was required; the report was informational and the commission did not vote on construction items. In commission communications later in the meeting, staff announced a Care ATC landing page is live on the county website and that account setup and appointment scheduling are available through the landing page or by phone. Staff said Care ATC would take over the space on the 4th and had three weeks to set up operations and train staff; they said those steps would lead to a soft opening and later a grand opening but the transcript did not clearly specify exact soft-opening and grand-opening dates.
Commissioners discussed workforce and employee access to the clinic. Presiding Commissioner Lynn Morris said the clinic aims to improve employee health access, reduce expensive urgent-care and emergency-room visits, and lower county insurance costs. No budget vote or additional funding was taken at the meeting; staff will continue coordination with Care ATC on a handover schedule and final site completion details.
