Flandreau — The mayor told the council the city will hold a special workshop on May 27 to present an ambulance model and allow public questions; the council must vote at its regular June 2 meeting on whether to accept an offer from Moody County, and the city plans to send a response letter to the county timed for their June 3 meeting.
Cole told the council the presentation will be workshop-style, with a consultant who has been working with Moody County and the city on call-volume analysis expected to present data on call locations and volumes. The consultant’s analysis is intended to clarify operational options and help councilors understand the tradeoffs of the county’s offer.
Depending on the outcome of the council’s June 2 vote, the mayor said the city will draft and deliver a written response to Moody County for their June 3 meeting. Councilors were asked to attend the May 27 workshop to review the ambulance model and to bring questions for the consultant and city staff.
The mayor also confirmed the City Council’s schedule for related public engagement: the May 27 session will be a presentation and Q&A; the formal decision point will be June 2 when the council will accept or reject the county’s offer.
