Recreation staff told commissioners May 21 they are considering buying a faster photo printer to handle high demand for event photos after Easter.
Staff described the current bottleneck experienced during the Easter event and presented a model Epson 4x6 printer that prints a 4x6 photo in about 36 seconds. The director said the estimated ink cost would be roughly $32.98 per 100 four‑by‑six prints. Staff noted the printer could accept SD cards or be connected to a laptop or camera to speed turnaround and that the device could be used for other events, including Breakfast with Santa and summer festivals.
Commissioners discussed funding; staff noted approximately $250 in event donations were received following Easter and that the department could use fund balances or seek discounted pricing when a sale is available. No purchase vote was taken; staff said they would continue to research models and sale opportunities and bring a recommendation back before the next major event.
