Staff outlined a sequence: several additional workdays to complete coating, seven days of curing with no water use, then a two‑ to three‑day fill period. The department had planned lifeguard training sessions June 1, 7 and 8 but said the June 1 date was likely to require a trip to Peterborough for certification if Milford’s pool is not ready. The director said she would transport staff to a neighboring facility for at least one training session if needed.
Staff also reported that hiring is nearly complete: recreation staff said about 26 seasonal employees had been onboarded and paperwork largely completed. The resurfacing is a coordinated project involving Milford, Amherst, Peterborough and Jaffrey; the departments are sharing access to certification classes so all towns’ summer staff can become certified promptly.
Meeting participants said they have been in contact with the water department about filling once curing is complete to avoid sediment or iron issues. No formal vote was required; staff will return with updated timelines and confirmation of certification arrangements.
