Police and Granite Towne Media finalize PSA clarifying dog restrictions on athletic fields

Sergeant Campbell said the ordinance change removes ambiguity about where dogs are allowed on parks. In the video he states, “The dogs restrained or unrestrained strictly prohibited from athletic fields, courts, buildings, and properties.” The PSA lists the parks affected as Kaley Park, Shepherd Park, Keyes Park and Adams Field and directs residents to the town website for the ordinance text.
Board members raised questions about precise field boundaries at Keyes Park. Chris said staff are finalizing a schematic overlay from drone footage and an aerial layout to show the designated no‑dog areas; signage already exists at some parks, he said, and the video and schematic will be posted on the town website under the ordinance page so residents can see the exact boundaries.
Chris said the station added the visual clarification because “there's been discussions ... what is considered to be the actual field. Is it designated by actual lines on the ground?” The board agreed staff should confirm the designated lines for Keyes and complete a final cut after that confirmation.
