Steven (Steve) Martin, presented to the board the city’s 2024 annual comprehensive financial audit and reminded the Board of Directors that Arkansas statute 10‑4‑4‑418 requires the governing body to review the audit report and accompanying recommendations at its first regularly scheduled meeting after receipt.
Martin reported the auditors issued a clean opinion on the financial statements for the year ended Dec. 31, 2024, and that no reportable conditions rising to a material weakness were found. He said the audit report was delivered to the board on July 15, 2025 and is posted on the city website. Becca Kaiser of Forvis Mazars was noted as the auditor who would provide a brief presentation of findings and recommendations at the formal meeting.
Staff asked the board to formally acknowledge receipt and review of the audit as required by statute; the acknowledgement resolution is on the Aug. 5 agenda.
