The Milford Planning Board on July 15 voted to continue the application from Choice Property Management LLC for a new trash-removal office and truck parking facility to the board’s Aug. 19 meeting.
The motion to grant the continuance was made by Andrew Cinelli and seconded by Janet Langdell; the chair recorded the motion as approved.
Board members emphasized the continuation applies only to the pending application for the existing site and not to any substantially different proposal. “If they’re going somewhere else, that’s not a continuance,” a member said during the discussion, noting a move to a different location would require a new application instead of extending the current one.
Planning staff noted the applicant currently holds a 65-day waiver. Several members told staff they do not want to pre-commit to approving another six-month delay if the applicant asks in August. “We’re not going to continue it for another six months, especially if you’re going to a different location,” a board member said.
The board’s vote did not bind future decisions on any follow-up requests. Members and staff said that if a continuation would substantially change the project or the location, the applicant should be treated as filing a new application and abutters should be re-notified.
No other formal actions were taken on the item at the July 15 meeting.
