Town staff reported that Klamath Water Village and Sewer District began water and sewer line replacement construction on Russell Street on July 19, and that, after that portion is complete, town contractor Lindman Construction will complete drainage work and final road resurfacing, the Select Board heard at a recent meeting.
Staff said the Russell Street segment has an active contractor and that over the next two weeks work would expand to Emerson Street from Highland Street to Merrill Street for water and sewer line construction. After underground work is finished, the town’s contractor will complete drainage and pave the final surface.
The Select Board was told the staged approach is intended to sequence utility replacement, drainage repairs and final paving so residents will see a phased construction schedule. Town staff recommended that residents expect temporary traffic patterns and periodic lane restrictions during construction and said the town will coordinate notifications with abutters.
No additional funding requests or special appropriations were presented at the meeting; staff said work is proceeding under previously approved contracts and will be monitored through the town’s project oversight processes.
