Reynoso said the vendor has provided services for nearly two years across multiple city departments, was the lowest bidder in a recent procurement and that the contract term would run until June 30, 2026 or until funds are depleted.
Reynoso noted the city has received authorization to hire additional officers but that recruitment and academy timelines mean new officers likely will not be available for roughly a year to 18 months, creating continued demand for contracted traffic control. When a council member asked whether there had been problems with the company, Reynoso replied, “No. We have not.”
A motion to approve the renewal and to waive formal purchasing procedures passed by voice vote. The approved not‑to‑exceed budget amount is $85,000.
