On July 28 the Evanston Planning & Development Committee approved Ordinance 48-025, granting a special-use permit for a kennel at 2900 Central Street in the AB1A business district.
Council member Rogers moved the ordinance; Council member Burns seconded. The committee voted unanimously in favor. Council member Rogers said he attended the Land Use Commission meeting on the application and called it "a great addition to that particular neighborhood." The committee did not attach additional conditions in the public record during the motion and voted to approve the special-use request.
The ordinance passed on a roll call vote. Staff will proceed with permitting steps required by zoning and building review.
