Planning and Zoning Director Rodney Ashby reported to the commission on several recent Nampa City Council actions during the July 29 meeting, and the commission then moved to adopt the consent agenda.
Ashby told commissioners the City Council approved a final plat for "Adara No. 1," a mixed single-family project near the southeast corner of West Flamingo Avenue and Midway Road that included 34 single‑family detached units in an RS4 zone, 19 single‑family detached units in an RS6 zone, and 41 single‑family attached units in an RD zone plus one commercial lot. He also summarized a variance approved for a 15‑foot rear setback for an accessory structure at 3707 South Edgewood in the Greenbrier Estates subdivision and a vacation and variance to adjust lot size maximums and setback to resolve an existing structure overlap at the northeast corner of Boer Way and Stone Star Road.
"What had happened is a shed had been built right overlapping the property line on their neighbor's property...so this was a variance to just clean up the property and then be able to sell the property and they granted that vacation variance," Ashby said, describing the property-boundary adjustment.
Ashby said City Council also adopted a comp plan amendment updating the capital improvement program for fire and engineering and approved a zoning map amendment to make a parcel at 1423 South Elder Street a single zone (RS6) where it previously had split zones. After the report, Chair Garner called for adoption of the consent agenda; Commissioner Kehoe moved to adopt and Commissioner Selman seconded. The motion carried and the chair said, "Okay, consent agenda passes."
The consent agenda adoption was recorded in the provided transcript as a standard procedural vote; the motion was moved by Kehoe, seconded by Selman and passed in the meeting excerpt. The commission then proceeded to public hearing items, beginning with the conditional use permit for the noncommercial kennel at 3004 Bannock Avenue.
No detailed vote tally by member is recorded in the supplied transcript for the consent-agenda motion.
