The Clearwater Public Arts Board directed staff to focus the Sculpture360 Season 10 artist call on Florida artists and to prioritize a sustainability or recycling theme.
Staff told the board the Sculpture360 program is entering its 10th season and that previous years used national calls. Because the pool of local applicants is limited and the board wanted to support state artists, staff proposed narrowing the call to Florida to give more local artists an opportunity to participate.
Board members generally supported the idea and suggested emphasizing sustainability or recycled materials to align with the city's stated sustainability goals. Staff said the call will go out in March for an installation in October and that outreach will include word‑of‑mouth, social media and artist‑group channels to broaden the local pool.
No formal vote was recorded; the board provided direction to staff to proceed with a Florida artist call and a sustainability/recycling theme for the season. Staff said they will return with details on the call, selection criteria and budget implications.
