Deltona awards resurfacing contract, begins large meter replacement and advances wastewater projects

Glenn (Deltona Water/Public Works) told the City of Deltona commission on June 12 that the city has moved several capital projects forward, including a road resurfacing contract, a large‑scale meter replacement program and multiple wastewater projects.

Glenn said the resurfacing contract was awarded to PNS Paving “in the amount of $2,000,000 to resume the milling and resurfacing program.” He also said the city awarded a contract to Vanguard Utility Services to install an initial batch of 10,000 new water meters, starting at Lakeshore Edge Water Condominium communities where about 700 meters will be changed out first.

On sewer and drainage, staff said a contract with Hazing Construction to replace approximately 265 linear feet of 8‑inch gravity sewer main in the Lake Helen‑Osteen area will be presented to the commission for approval on June 19.
