FDOT schedules virtual update July 24 for US‑319 widening project; construction estimate ~$25M

The Florida Department of Transportation informed the CRTPA on June 16 that a virtual project update for a US‑319 segment will be available beginning July 24 on the Northwest Florida Roads website and that maps, drawings and project material will be posted for public review. Brian (FDOT) said the project proposes a four‑lane capacity improvement for approximately 1.9 miles from south of LL Wallace Road to south of the SR‑61 intersection. He said right‑of‑way funding is programmed in fiscal year 2027 and that the current construction estimate for the segment is approximately $25,000,000. Brian said FDOT expects to program design and additional right‑of‑way funds so the project can move toward construction in the near term. Board members were invited to participate in the virtual update and to review the posted materials; Brian said the project page will show maps and drawings and provide details for public comment. When asked about the department’s budget outlook, Brian said the department expected the DOT budget bill to be approved and that he did not anticipate adjustments to the existing work program as a result of the statewide budget actions discussed elsewhere in the meeting.
