CRTPA adopts 2027–2031 Project Priority List; Cropperville close to construction readiness

The Capital Region Transportation Planning Agency on June 16 approved its project priority list for 2027–2031, which staff said will form the foundation for next year’s Transportation Improvement Program and guide discussions with FDOT on the department’s five‑year work program. Lex (CRTPA staff) told the board the PPL is consistent with the regional mobility plan and incorporates priorities from local plans such as the Tallahassee International Airport master plan and StarMetro’s transit development plan. The adopted list includes roadway, transit, aviation, bike‑ped and regional trail projects. Staff highlighted that, aside from one project, most of the top priorities remain in planning or design phases and will need additional funding before construction. For the two Cropperville Road segments staff said the only outstanding funding need to move to construction is approximately $1,100,000 for right of way; once that last right‑of‑way piece is programmed and acquired, that project would be ready to advance to construction. Staff also noted that two bicycle/pedestrian projects (Old Saint Augustine and North Monroe Street) are fully funded and off the list, and two Transportation Alternatives projects (Waverly Road and Dr. MLK Memorial) received funding. The board moved and seconded the recommendation and approved the 2027–2031 PPL by voice vote. Staff said the adopted priorities will be discussed with FDOT as the department prepares its work program and that project pages will be updated to reflect funding status.
