Mayor says new diverging-diamond interchange at I‑90 is complete; Deep Creek widening due this fall

Mayor Rasp reported to the Snoqualmie City Council on July 28 that the new diverging-diamond interchange is complete and will receive final striping and repaving work before full opening.
"It is complete," the mayor said, adding that crews will close a lane to add striping and repaving but that the interchange is in its final form. The mayor said the widening to Deep Creek is expected to be completed this fall and that both projects should be finished by then.
Councilor Johnson commented on the temporary striping and said he had asked Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) representatives to ensure temporary ghost striping would not create confusing or unsafe conditions. He said that while he did not expect immediate reductions in 1-90 backups at opening, the new interchange should function more smoothly than the prior configuration once all work is complete.
