ELKHART, Ind. — The Elkhart Redevelopment Commission on July 29 voted to award a contract to Cressi Commercial Real Estate to white-box a vacant combined retail space at Woodland Crossing for $15,309.40.
"We have 2 quotes to white box a vacant space ... at Woodland Crossing. We received 2 quotes, one from HDR Group for $38,692 and another from Cressi Commercial Real Estate for $15,309.40. I'm recommending approval of the Cressi quote," Mary Casca, assistant director of community development for the city of Elkhart, told commissioners.
The work covers Suite 4 and Suite 5 at 140 Woodland Crossing (combined tenant space) after the prior occupant vacated. Casca said there is not yet a new tenant; the white-box work is to prepare the space for leasing. The commission moved to appropriate the sum from the Woodland Crossing operations account, and the motion was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The contract award authorizes staff to proceed with the lower bid to ready the commercial space for marketing and tenant fit-out.
