The Washington County Commissioners Court on Tuesday authorized the county auditor to negotiate terms with Singleton Clark of Cedar Park, Texas, to perform the county’s 2024 financial audit.
County Auditor Miss Hollis told commissioners a three-person review board evaluated four responses to the county’s request for qualifications and recommended Singleton Clark. She said Singleton Clark is not a nationwide firm and indicated the firm expects to finish the 2024 audit by December if negotiations and preparations proceed as planned. "They say that they will be able to finish by the by December," Miss Hollis told the court.
Hollis said Singleton Clark proposed starting work a couple of months before year-end to complete about 30 percent of field work ahead of the final phase. Commissioners approved moving into negotiations; final contract cost and details will return to the court for approval.
The auditor will negotiate cost and audit scope with Singleton Clark and report back to the commissioners when negotiations are complete.
